All of his teammates sobbed when Brendon McCullum abruptly announced his retirement, citing his wife and other horrible marital issues.
New Zealand’s Wellington (AP) At the age of 42, former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has announced his resignation from England cricket as head coach.
McCullum played in Twenty20 competitions all over the world, most notably in Canada, after retiring from international cricket in 2016. He informed the organizers of his intention to retire before his scheduled appearance in the Euro T20 Slam.
McCullum stated that he will now focus on coaching and commentating on television.
McCullum says he retires “with pride and satisfaction” in a message that was shared on Twitter.
“Even though I’m pleased with it, I’ve felt the need to keep pushing harder to sustain what I’ve accomplished in my 20-year professional career—more than I ever could have imagined when I initially started the game,” McCullum remarked.
Even though McCullum is sad to be leaving the game behind, he is looking forward to what lies ahead.
