It’s heartbreaking news: key players of the Vikings wish players and fans farewell as he live team.

After one great season, Za’Darius Smith bid the Minnesota Vikings faithful farewell on Thursday. There was only one issue.

He is still under contract with the team, which apparently doesn’t want him gone.
The confusion began in the afternoon when the Pro Bowl pass-rusher tweeted his best wishes to the supporters. It’s obvious to anyone who follows the NFL that Smith knew he was going to be another NFL salary cap casualty because the tweet is the player’s announcement that he’s moving on.

I would like to express my gratitude to Skol Nation for an incredible season and experience! đŸ’œ To my teammates, coaches, and the entire Minnesota Vikings organization, I extend my gratitude! https://twitter.com/LAVAy5jptS

Whether Smith decides to stay with the Vikings, get released, or renegotiate his current contract, it will undoubtedly create an unusual appearance for a player who initially joined the team under mysterious circumstances.

Smith missed a large portion of 2021 due to a back injury; consequently, the Green Bay Packers released him during the offseason. He signed a quick four-year, $35 million contract with his old team, the Baltimore Ravens, but later backed out to sign a more lucrative one with the Vikings.

After a successful return season, Smith will now have even more money to spend if he becomes a free agent. Regretfully, this time around he is genuinely bound by a contract.
