It’s heartbreaking news:as key players of the New York Yankees wish players and fans farewell as he plays for the live team.

Oswald Peraza’s injury comes at a very bad time because he has no way of earning his playing time right now and his playing time is on the line. Throughout the past year, the Yankees have been reluctant to commit to either of these players.

Now, luck isn’t on Peraza’s side as he will be out indefinitely due to ongoing shoulder discomfort. That might be all it takes to keep him in Triple-A for another season, and with the infield already so full of players and another wave of talent entering the system by then, it might be necessary to trade Peraza to get him to the trading block.

There is no real reason to pursue extending Soto and possibly adding to the offense while also keeping him around if he sinks for another season; a lot of Stanton’s future is dependent on both how he plays this year and the team that surrounds him in 2025.

As it stands, Stanton’s position in the lineup reduces the flexibility the outfield has, forcing Judge to play center field, where the team most likely doesn’t want him to stay for the long run. When Jasson Domínguez is included once more, the puzzle pieces no longer fit together unless Stanton pushes his way into the scene.

It would be difficult to eat and even harder to swallow the three guaranteed remaining years at Stanton’s high (but not absurdly high) salary.
