It’s Heartbreaking: A very loyal Houston Texans player has announced his sudden retirement, sending a powerful statement and bidding the team and supporters

Following the announcement that he would be returning to the Houston Texans, JJ Watt sent an emotional message to the team’s supporters.

After playing for the Texans for ten seasons, Watt formally left the team in 2020. After being selected with the eleventh overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, he won three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Following his NFL retirement at the end of the previous campaign, Watt made an investment in English football with Burnley, a Premier League newcomer. That same season, Watt and his spouse Kealia invested in the club as minor investors when the Clarets won the championship and were promoted to the Premier League.
I had no idea how extraordinarily unique the people, the neighborhood, and the family were. And your accepting me into that family has my sincerest gratitude.

“You welcomed me and took me in as one of your own, maybe not at first—it took some persuading. And I’m so proud to be from Texas, man.

“Thank you. I am appreciative. A portion of the moments and memories we’ve created together. Some of the hardships we have faced, both on and off the field.

By doing this, Watt will join Robert C. McNair and Andre Johnson as the only other people to be inducted, making history. The induction will take place during the Texans’ Week 4 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, October 1. TJ Watt, his brother, will also be inducted.

Following the announcement that Watt would receive recognition, the former Texan addressed the team’s supporters via a moving video that the Houston Texans’ Twitter page shared. “Where should I begin in Houston? I was just a little child twelve years ago,” Watt remarked in the video.

“I knew very little about the city I was traveling to. The only things I knew about pickup trucks and good barbecue were those two things.
