Derrick White, a superb, devoted player for the Boston Celtics, has submitted his resignation.

Forward Blake Griffin is pondering his future in the NBA after 15 seasons, the last one perhaps being with the Boston Celtics. No. 91 has appeared in 41 games during his one and only season in Boston, averaging 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. Despite playing little on the floor, the six-time NBA All-Star and previous Slam Dunk contest champion was well-liked by C’s teammates and supporters.

Boston would “would welcome a return by veteran big man Blake Griffin, who played well last year, and had a good locker room presence,” according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, given the Celtics’ dearth of frontcourt players. But as Griffin mulls over his options this summer, Himmelsbach says that a reunion is “unlikely.”

Griffin talked candidly about his brief stay in Beantown as well as his experiences both on and off the court in a recent one-on-one interview with Dan Rappoport of Barstool Sports.

Griffin, who is only 34 years old, was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2009 NBA Draft at the age of 20. Throughout his remarkable career, Griffin has had regrettable setbacks due to knee issues. The former Celtic spoke about injuries and the potential effects of last year’s season on his physique ahead of training camp, which begins in four weeks.
