It’s devastating: the Atlanta Braves head coach has announced his unexpected departure, making a strong statement and wishing the team and fans a very fond farewell.

It’s heartbreaking: the head coach of the Atlanta Braves has announced his sudden resignation, leaving a powerful message and bidding the club and supporters farewell with much affection.

General William Sherman of the Union launched a “total war” assault in 1864, destroying most of Atlanta. Sherman would definitely burn the city down again just to be safe if he could travel back 159 years and see what a whining lot of losers the city’s baseball club, their supporters, and pretty much everyone connected to them had become.

I don’t find it shocking that Braves fans are complaining. These are the team’s supporters who get outraged the most, on a regular basis, after six seasons of writing series previews about them. more senior The site’s readers might recall the tantrum they threw in 2019 when I referred to their success as unsustainable.

In relation to series teasers, let me take a moment to commend myself on this one. Even if I don’t always get things right, I was exactly right. (I find it disappointing that no one addressed the Ozymandias allusion.) Throughout the regular season, the Braves batters nearly all exceeded expectations, so some regression in the postseason was probably to be expected. Furthermore, even with a strong offensive lineup, you still run the risk of being shut down over the duration of a five-game series while playing for a club whose pitching staff is built to do just that.

I also noticed correctly that the pitching staff of the Braves was not as spectacular as it is now. Maybe things might have turned out differently if they had a healthy Charlie Morton and a Max Fried at full strength. However, injuries do occur, and the Phillies rested their starters heavily in April and spring training for a purpose.

I’d like to give the Braves, their supporters, and a few of their recent highlights one last look before we move on to the Arizona Diamondbacks:
