Good news: The Ajax amsterdam has just completed their deal that they have been waiting for for so many years

Late on Thursday night, the defending Eredivisie champions made the announcement and acknowledged that they had “no confidence” in Schreuder. He signed a contract that was set to expire in the summer of 2024, but it will now be cancelled.

Alfred Schreuder has been suspended by Ajax immediately. The trainer’s contract will now end immediately, having been valid until June 30, 2024. The primary causes of this decision, according to Ajax’s statement, are the numerous points lost and the team’s lack of progress.

“The club management is no longer optimistic about future collaboration. Additionally, there will be no more working with assistant coach Matthias Kaltenbach.”

Edwin van der Sar, the legendary United manager, acknowledged that firing Schreuder was a “painful” decision. But with the club in freefall, he insisted that it was necessary.

“Although difficult, this choice is also essential. We had a strong start to the season and then dropped a bunch of needless points. It was a volatile game as well,” Van der Sar continued.

“The World Cup gave us an extended and early winter break and gave us the confidence to make improvements and changes. Even though we think he had a strong and championship-caliber squad at his disposal despite the numerous transfers, it has become increasingly obvious in recent weeks that he was unable to turn the tide.

“We have also lost a lot of points in recent weeks, and unfortunately, we did not see any progress.”

Schreuder had previously served as Ten Hag’s match assistant for eighteen months, winning the Belgian championship with Club Brugge the previous year. However, he was unable to duplicate that success at Ajax, where the Dutch powerhouses have now tied their worst-ever Eredivisie winless streak.

For the first time since 1965, they have now lost seven straight games following their draw with Volendam. With ten minutes remaining, Mohamed Kudus, the substitute, had to salvage a point after Damon Mirani had put the visitors ahead.

The next game for Ajax is on Sunday as they travel to Excelsior, a lower division team. However, with Schreuder and assistant coach Kaltenbach leaving the team, it is not yet clear who will be the team’s manager.
