The all-time player for AC Milan has consistently recommended to the head coach that the team add a striker to help them accomplish their goals.

MILAN: In Monday’s Serie A opener against Bologna, US utility player Christian Pulisic opened his AC Milan career with a bang, scoring one and setting up another.

After joining Milan last month, Pulisic assisted Olivier Giroud in scoring the first goal, and in the twenty-first minute, the former Chelsea player returned the favor.

Pulisic declared, “It was a fantastic start, for sure.” “I’m thrilled to have joined this team. We were greatly assisted by the first two goals, as the rest of the game proved to be challenging. It’s also a terrific start for me personally; it’s good to have a goal.”

Among the new faces of the Rossoneri are Pulisic. He claimed the presence of former teammates influenced his decision to join the illustrious Italian team. Milan was the busiest Serie A team in the offseason, adding six new players.

It was just a conversation with those men. We had some enjoyable times together with Olivier; I performed with Fikayo (Tomori) and Ruben, and as you can see tonight once more, the connection is still there,” Pulisic remarked.

“And it was fantastic to have Ollie’s assistance once more. I simply felt like it was the right move for my career, and I’m very, very welcomed.

Yunus Musah, a US teammate of Pulisic, was suspended for the first game of the season. However, Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, two other recent additions, made their starting debuts and contributed to the first goal in the eleventh minute.

Reijnders cut the crossfield pass back to Pulisic, who placed it perfectly for Giroud to slot in at the other end.

Ten minutes later, Pulisic improved even more when he played a one-two with Giroud and scored from the far side.

Giroud remarked, “We are really happy with this first match, and I am even happier for Christian.” “We played together and had a good relationship on the field, so I know him very well.”

Milan lost steam as they had a comfortable lead and the temperature in Bologna was getting close to thirty degrees, even at night.

In the last minute, Rafael Leão had a chance to make it three, but his shot struck the inside of the far post.

THE RETURN OF RANIERI

Cagliari’s impressive 0-0 result in Claudio Ranieri’s first Serie A game took place in Torino.

Similar to the previous season, Torino had the better of the chances but was unable to take advantage of them.

Ranieri, 71, was back at the team that essentially started his coaching career over three decades ago.

Last season, he pulled off another seemingly impossible feat by leading Cagliari to promotion through the playoffs.
