The Jacksonville Jaguars aggressively signed wide-ranging monster players to be their key starters for the season.

The wide monsters that the Jacksonville Jaguars aggressively signed will be their main starting lineup for the entire season.

Many of these guys are returnees to training camp from the 2023 practice squad, so you might remember them.

OL, Chandler Brewer: Re-signed to the practice squad after being waived by Jacksonville in 2023 after having previously signed a deal with them.

Following a period of injuries up front, he was later added to the active roster on November 27, 2023. On December 30, he was dismissed and resigned to the practice squad.

OL, Keaton Sutherland: After being waived by the Houston Texans on November 27, 2023, Sutherland was previously signed to the Jaguars practice squad.

OL, Darryl Williams: Spent 2024 on the practice squad after being previously signed to a contract.
Josh Pederson, a tight end, was a practice squad member for the duration of the 2023 season. He is the son of Doug Pederson, a former player. He became the first player to play for his father as head coach in the NFL since 1978, when he made his debut against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13 (1978, John and John McKay with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

WR, Williams Seth: Williams was a member of the Jaguars practice squad in 2022 and 2023.

K. Riley Patterson: Prior to being moved to the Detroit Lions in May 2023, Patterson played for Jacksonville in 2022.
DL, De’Shaan Dixon: An OLB who signed with Jacksonville as a UDFA following the 2022 draft, Dixon played the whole season on the active roster. Dixon was requested to go to DT prior to the 2023 season and gain 20 pounds.

After that, he was waived, and he continued to hone his skills in the new capacity by spending the 2023 season on the practice squad.
DL, Esezi Otomewo: After being waived by the Minnesota Vikings, Otomewo spent the 2023 season on the Jaguars practice squad. In the 2022 draft, he was selected in the fifth round.
LB, Dequan Jackson: A 2023 practice squad member, Jackson is a native of Riverside High School in Duval County.
OLB, DJ Coleman: Signed as a UDFA by Jacksonville, Coleman spent the 2023 season on the practice squad.

DB, Erick Hallett II: Prior to the season, Hallett was unexpectedly cut despite being chosen in the sixth round of the 2023 draft. After recording the most interceptions of any player during training camp at both safety and nickel corner, he was placed on the Jacksonville practice squad for the 2023 season.
Tevaughn Campbell, a veteran wide receiver, was first added to the squad in 2022 as a depth player. He was active starting in Week 8. He joined on again with the team, but in the final cuts, he was cut and moved to the practice squad.
DB, Amani Oruwariye: On October 16, 2023, following his release from the New York Giants, Oruwariye signed a contract to join the Jaguars practice squad.

DB, Ayo Oyelola: Oyelola, a resident of the United Kingdom, was first signed by Jacksonville on May 3, 2022, through the NFL’s International Pathway Program. Since then, he has been growing on the practice squad for the organization. See more about Oyelola here. Seldom is his journey reported in the United States, and it’s quite an interesting one. It’s very amazing that he had to fight twice to get into the NFL through the IPP program and that he is currently fighting to get on the active roster.

All things considered, the quantity of backup players they are adding or bringing back might be something to watch coming into the following campaign. This is especially true in light of the intense competition in that room during the previous preseason and the challenging decisions that were made. With a new defensive coordinator who specializes in man coverage rather than Mike Caldwell’s preference for zone coverage, this group may end up being the most interesting one.
