Unbelievable: The Seattle team’s former head coach has announced his return to the position.

Older and wiser people often claim that spending time with younger people keeps them feeling fresh and young at heart.

Pete Carroll, the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, is 71 years old and still considered “young and invigorated.”

“I’m currently having the best time of my life. As enjoyable as any team we’ve ever had, this one we’re building right now, Carroll stated during a recent appearance on The Richard Sherman Podcast.

Carroll is the NFL’s oldest coach—clearly a “young man’s game.” But retirement plans do not appear to be part of his vision. Of course, one of the main reasons for that is the caliber of the Seahawks team he helped turn around and make a contender.

“At this moment, I don’t even give a damn about that thought—how long it lasts or anything.”

One excellent idea is to “be where your feet are,” which is actually a favorite saying of Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator and former Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. To put it briefly, it serves as a reminder to savor the present moment and not worry unduly about what lies far in the distance.

With a team that surprised everyone by making the playoffs the previous season and is competitive this year as a potential top-five NFC team, Carroll is happy where he is.

Given how long Carroll has been in the NFL, it’s understandable that people would wonder, but Carroll acknowledged that retirement is

Carroll expressed his excitement at the realization that they have been here for Years 13, 12, 13, or 14, whatever the number may be, adding that it has never been about winning just once. It is, “How long can you continue to win?” “How long are you able to continue?”

Even under Carroll’s direction, the Seahawks appeared to require some time from the Seattle supporters following the Russell Wilson trade before the team could once again enjoy “the time of their lives.”

However, as a unit, the Seahawks appear to be headed toward excellent form. And so does coach Pete Carroll, who is 71 years old.
