The Buccaneers, who had just declared their release of the wide receiver who had run off the field in controversy during the third quarter of his previous game, did so less than twenty-four hours after Brown’s allegations.
“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have terminated the contract of Antonio Brown, effective immediately,” the statement read.
“Although Antonio’s ankle was treated and he was on the injury report the week before the game on Sunday, our medical staff cleared him to play before the game began, and he never told our staff members that he couldn’t play during the game.
