Unfortunately, the head coach of the Green Bay Packers officially decided to terminate his contract due to…

It appears that Matt LaFleur, the coach of the Green Bay Packers, has admitted that he prays whenever kicker Anders Carlson steps onto the field.

According to Fox Sports analyst Matt Rinaldi, LaFleur acknowledged his situational need for faith during their divisional playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers.

“After discussing this with head coach Matt LaFleur, he basically said, ‘When he (Carlson) goes out there, I just pray,'” Rinaldi said during the show.

When it counted most, Carlson made a costly error, so LaFleur’s prayers went unanswered. Carlson had a chance to push the Packers’ lead to seven points in the fourth quarter, with the team leading 21–17. Sadly, his 41-yard attempt was unsuccessful, barely missing the target.

With the field goal, the Packers could have ended the close game. Rather, the 49ers overcame a late deficit to win 24–21 and move on to the NFC title game.

On Saturday, Carlson’s 41-yard field goal attempt was unsuccessful, and the Packers were eliminated.

Carlson’s season field goal percentage was 81.8 coming into the game. The former Auburn player made both of his attempts from 20 to 29 yards out before the horrendous miss in the end.

Star running back Christian McCaffrey, who gained 98 yards on 17 carries and two significant touchdowns, led San Francisco to victory. George Kittle, a tight end, led the 49ers in receiving yards with 81, including a touchdown.

Brock Purdy, the quarterback, completed 23 of 39 passes for 252 yards and one touchdown.

The Packers entered the contest on a four-game winning streak, which included a victory over the Cowboys in the wild card round. However, the 49ers, who were ranked first, were defeated by the Rams in their season finale and had to wait a week to defeat Green Bay.

For the NFC title, the 49ers will play the victor of Sunday’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions.
