Ohio’s COLUMBUS — There will be other Cotton Bowl teams without a starting defensive lineman. One such team is Ohio State football.

Two defensive starters for Missouri will be absent from Friday night’s contest. Injury will prevent cornerback Ennis Rakestraw and linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper from participating.

With 55 tackles (six for loss), six quarterback hurries, and three pass breakups, Hopper is second on the Tigers in terms of tackle totals. Rakestraw recorded three interceptions and 35 tackles overall.

Safety Lathan Ransom was injured in the lower body and missed the end of the regular season. Ohio State coach Ryan Day confirmed on Saturday that Ransom will not be able to play on Friday.

The NFL Draft will not be an excuse for Missouri’s team, according to head coach Eli Drinkwitz on Saturday. Not all Ohio State players who are eligible for the draft have revealed their plans just yet.

Henderson in a game?
Photos from Sunday morning’s practice that Ohio State posted to social media suggested that one important contributor was still active.

TreVeyon Henderson, the running back, was pictured in pads during practice. The three-year starter has not stated if he expects to be back for the 2024 campaign or if he will play on Friday.

In the first of its five practices in Dallas, Ohio State worked out for 65 minutes inside AT&T Stadium.

Buckeyes of the NFL
During his freshman and senior years at Ohio State, Zach Harrison’s single-season high for sacks was 3.5. After recording two Sunday in a 29-10 victory over the Colts, the rookie quarterback for the Falcons has three in the last week. The Falcons improved to 7-8 thanks to a tackle from Jeff Okudah.
