Sad news: The head coach of the Tennessee received sad news regarding his top player
On Saturday, the Tennessee Vols were informed of some regrettable news.
Sylvester Smith, a four-star defensive back prospect for 2023, declared on social media on Saturday night that he was leaving Tennessee.
Smith posted on Instagram, saying, “First and foremost, I want to thank the University of Tennessee for welcoming me with open arms.” “I appreciate that coaches HYP, Banks, and Nez took the time and made the effort to find me a student. That being stated, I have to decommit from the University of Tennessee in order to protect my family and myself. I’m grateful to Tennessee and its supporters.
Smith, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound player from Munford, Alabama, is rated as the No. 16 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 17 safety in the country in 247Sports’ composite rankings.
The gifted defensive back gave Tennessee his first commitment in April.
Smith’s withdrawal occurs following his weekend visit to Auburn. It seems like Auburn is the club Smith should keep an eye on right now.
Right now, the Vols’ 2023 recruiting class is rated ninth in the country.
