The Bears are in great jeopardy as another key player has expressed a strong desire to leave, and he’s very keen to pen a new deal with…
With the first overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears are officially on the clock.
The Bears own the rights to the first pick for the second straight year. In exchange for wide receiver D.J. Moore and a plethora of draft picks, including Carolina’s first-round selection this year, general manager Ryan Poles traded those rights to the Carolina Panthers last year. The Bears are once again in control of the draft because the Panthers had the worst record in the NFL at the end of the season.
The Chicago Bears community will continue to debate whether the team should select USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who is regarded as a generational player, or keep quarterback Justin Fields and trade down from the No. 1 pick for a king’s ransom of picks and players.
The fact that team president Kevin Warren gave Justin Fields a strong recommendation is encouraging to those in Justin’s corner.
Join us all day on @WGNNews as we talk about everything from Ryan Poles’ pivotal pick in this year’s draft to my exclusive interview with Kevin Warren. Watch this clip to get a taste of his thoughts on Justin Fields.
The Bears will reportedly need a historic trade package in order to move the top pick and maintain Fields, so the Caleb Bros should be optimistic that the the Poles will select Williams.
