The top two players for the Jacksonville Jaguars have been arrested for alleged domestic abuse

For the second time this year, Jaguars cornerback Chris Claybrooks was taken into custody on Friday afternoon on allegations of domestic abuse.

According to NewsJax4, which referenced Duval County Jail records, Claybrooks, 25, was taken into custody at 4:30 p.m. on Friday for misdemeanor domestic battery and false imprisonment, which is a felony.

On Saturday, he is expected to appear in court.

What exactly led to Friday’s arrest is unknown.

“We are currently gathering information regarding Chris Claybrooks’ arrest, which we are aware of. The Jaguars said in a statement on Friday, “At this time, we will not be providing any additional comments.

Following an alleged incident in Nashville in April where he allegedly grabbed his ex-girlfriend’s hand, ripped her phone away, and threw it into the ground, breaking the device, Claybrooks was placed under arrest in April.

According to an affidavit obtained by the Florida Times-Union from the clerk of criminal courts in Davidson County, Tennessee, the woman’s right hand was abrased and bruised.

The Times-Union reports that Claybrooks was charged with vandalism and domestic assault causing bodily harm, both misdemeanors, but those charges were later dropped.

After spending two seasons at Memphis, Claybrooks was chosen in the seventh round of the 2023NFL Draft.
