Lamar Jackson did not have much time to celebrate signing a record-breaking contract with the Baltimore Ravens, which was announced about a month ago.

Reports surfaced on Saturday indicating that PurpleReignEra, a Baltimore Ravens fan, had died by apparent suicide. PurpleReignEra, whose true name was Chuck, tweeted this just before he passed away:

What led PurpleReignEra to take her own life?
PurpleReignEra said on Instagram Stories that he experienced a long list of issues in the later years of his life.

Chuck was struggling with an addiction to gambling, and his closest buddies “Black” and “Dev” had been shot dead during a robbery. He added that he didn’t get along well with this parent.

He said the following to end his stories:

“Well, this is my final post for now. Additionally, try not to be depressed. I know I had an amazing life, but it was enjoyable like, no ff. Goodbye, everyone.
PurpleReignEra shared a home with model and influencer Stephanie Skyy and her two sons in Baltimore at the time of his passing. Soon after his passing, Skyy shared this on her Instagram Stories:

Why is there so much misunderstanding about Chuck Clark and PurpleReignEra?
There were persistent reports earlier in the news cycle that Chuck Clark, a safety who played with Jackson from 2017 to 2022, was the Chuck that passed away. This was the tweet that Ravens Nation LIVE accidentally sent upon learning of Clark’s passing:

A symbol.Chuck, rest in peace. There is such thing as mental health. Tonight, let’s pray for his family.

LadyKaralyn, a Twitter user, had to remind the account that Clark was still alive:

incorrect dude. An NFL star is still alive. It was a Ravens fan named Guy with the same name. Chuck Clark of the Ravens is still alive.

Since being selected by Baltimore with the 186th overall pick in the 2017 draft out of Virginia Tech, safety Clark has been a member of the team. He was dealt to the New York Jets two months ago in exchange for a seventh-round pick in 2024.
