Another sorrowful news hit the Ravens as John Harbaugh has regreatfully announced the death of…

The son of two-time Super Bowl champion Ray Lewis, Ray Lewis III, passed away, according to an incident report from the police that described a possible overdose.

According to the Casselberry Police Department, Lewis passed away on Wednesday after being discovered unconscious in a bedroom by responding officers to a call to a home in central Florida.

Lewis’ age was stated to be 28. He spent two seasons as a cornerback at Miami, the university of his father’s birth, before moving to Coastal Carolina in 2015. His career was concluded at Virginia Union.

Police released a statement saying, “The evidence and witness accounts show this incident to be a tragic accident.”

When an officer showed up on Wednesday night, someone inside the house was trying to perform CPR on Lewis. According to the police report, the officer used Narcan to administer naloxone, an opioid overdose antidote, to Lewis after being tipped off by a second person.

Both the remedy and additional attempts to save lives failed. Lewis was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead from what authorities said was an overdose; an official autopsy report is still pending.

Mark James, his Virginia Union coach, said that his former player “was a great kid.”

James said over the phone to the Associated Press on Friday, “He played hard and it was a pleasure knowing him.”

In an Instagram story, Rahsaan Lewis, the younger brother of Lewis, wrote, “Really can’t believe I’m even typing this, but RIP big brother.”

Lewis’s father was an NFL star and Pro Football Hall of Famer, but James remembered him as a grounded young man who worked hard and never showed signs of arrogance.

James stated, “I believe that by the time we got him, he was prepared for the business of going to school, finishing, playing football, and making an impact (as a player).” “He worked very hard.”

Lewis recorded 19 tackles in 12 games as a cornerback for Coastal Carolina. In 2017, he recorded 37 tackles for Virginia Union.
