Denver, Colorado Springs Vince Lombardi referred to Forrest Gregg as the “finest player I ever coached,” and the legendary Hall of Fame tackle for the dominant Green Bay Packers of the 1960s passed away on Friday at the age of 85.
According to Barbara Gregg, her 59-year-old husband passed away in Colorado Springs as a result of Parkinson’s disease complications.
She added, “I lost my sweetheart this morning.” It’s terrible. In my arms, he passed away.
She claimed that throughout the previous two weeks, her husband had been inundated with calls from former athletes and teammates thanking him for having such a profound impact on their lives.
