In addition to being a highly accomplished player for The Netherlands both at the club and international levels, Bronckhorst also won five trophies during his prosperous tenure at De Kuip as manager, bringing glory back to Feyenoord of Rotterdam in the Eredivise and cup competitions.

Van Bronckhorst, who was born in 1975 and won the Dutch Cup in 1995, came via the Feyenoord academy system. Growing in popularity throughout Europe, Gio joined the Rangers as part of Dick Advocaat’s Dutch revolution, and that’s when Ibrox made his first approach.

He made 118 appearances, scored 22 goals, and won two league crowns, two Scottish Cups, and a League Cup during his playing career in Glasgow. He also left the city with five Rangers trophies.

He was always going to draw a lot of attention because of his play and his consistent participation on a strong Holland team. In the summer of 2001, he signed with Arsenal and played for two successful seasons at Highbury under Arsene Wenger, winning the FA Cup and the Premier League, before moving to Spain in 2003 to join Barcelona.

Under his native Frank Rijkaard, he was a vital member of the Barcelona team that would go on to achieve great success. During his tenure at Camp Nou, van Bronckhorst won two La Liga championships in 2005 and 2006, in addition to a Champions League medal in 2006.

But it would be impossible for him to resist the allure of returning to Rotterdam and Feyenoord, and he did so to cap off his club career in three seasons, from 2007 to 2024
