SEALED: Fulham has recently closed a huge, massive deal.

Fulham’s last-minute rush of business during the January transfer window may have marked the end of the window, but it seems the Cottagers already know what they hope to complete this summer.

In a thrilling race against Premier League rivals Wolves on Deadline Day, Marco Silva’s team was able to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja on loan. However, as the clock approached 11 p.m., it was also rumored that the club was in contact with German team VfB Stuttgart. Fulham has been linked to moves for Marseille’s Ismaila Sarr and former West Ham player Said Benrahma, indicating that they are in the market for a winger to bolster their ranks.

But in January, VfB Stuttgart winger Silas Katompa Mvumpa became a hot commodity after rumors circulated that Fulham had made the club an offer for a January transfer. Mvumpa, also known as Silas, was reportedly eager to join the Premier League, but negotiations with the team were unsuccessful.

The 25-year-old, who has made 19 appearances this season and has five goals and four assists, was asking for a fee of about £17 million from Stuttgart. Fulham was willing to pay that amount, but only as part of a loan-to-buy arrangement, which the Bundesliga team found unacceptable.

A winger is what Marco Silva is looking for.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Deutschland claims that Fulham is “still pushing” to sign the international player from the Democratic Republic of the Congo come summertime, indicating that they have not given up on their goal. It remains to be seen if Stuttgart will still take £17 million for the player’s services.

The winger is currently competing in the Africa Cup of Nations, and after trailing 3-1 against Guinea in the quarterfinal, his DR Congo team has advanced to the tournament’s semifinals. In addition to scoring a goal at AFCON so far this year, Silas also picked up an assist in that game.
