The Philadelphia Eagles committed player has announced an unexpected retirement leaving Nick Sirianni completely perplexed.

Although rumors have it that Jason Kelce’s time as the center for the Philadelphia Eagles is running out, he says he will give it some thought before deciding to continue playing.

Monday night’s NFL playoff wild-card round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers marked a heartbreaking conclusion to Kelce’s and the Eagles’ season.

Jason Kelce’s heartbreaking realization that his career was ended during his retirement Philadelphia’s early season exit occurred despite the team’s 10-1 record at the beginning of the season. But they lost six of their final seven games—including the loss to the Buccaneers on Monday—to finish the year.

Following the loss, there have been rumors that Kelce will declare his retirement. On his podcast “New Heights,” he talked about his future on Wednesday.

Jason addressed his brother and fellow host Travis Kelce, saying, “I didn’t announce what I was doing on purpose, despite, I guess, what’s been leaked to the media.”

“I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really make that decision, I just don’t, there’s too much emotion in the moment, there’s too much going down in the moment to really fully grasp that decision.”

“Not trying to be dramatic and continue to draw this thing out,” Jason said, although he did mention that he had considered the announcement of his retirement.

“When it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and what has led to the career I’ve had, and I don’t think it would be respectful or even accurate to be able to do that right after a game like that,” he said.

“Frustated, I guess, at everything that’s happening, but in the future there will be something said, I guess, but I did address the team and pretty much said the same thing I just said to you, which is I got belief in every single one of you guys, cherish the moments you have in this league, I think it’s kind of the way it went down.”

Kelce appeared distraught following the loss.
Jason made these remarks after he appeared obviously upset after Monday’s 32-9 loss to the Buccaneers.

The center was seen giving his offensive line coach, Jeff Stoutland, a hug before saying hello to his wife, Kylie, in the stands.

“I think there was a lot of emotion in the room, for sure,” he stated. “I don’t know what the future holds for anybody in that building right now, we’re about to get into, I guess, what happens down the stretch but we have exit interviews tomorrow.”
