Danny Briere of the Philadelphia Flyers lost his mother, Constance Brunet, to death on Sunday night at the age of sixty. Brunet was receiving treatment at a hospital in Hull, Quebec, for a brain aneurysm.

In addition to being one of the Flyers’ most well-liked players when they’re on the ice, Briere is also one of the team’s most popular players off the ice.

What Broad Street Hockey’s Travis Hughes had to say about his relationships with Briere over the years is as follows:

Considering that kindness is not unusual among hockey players, Danny is one of the nicest, most down-to-earth professional hockey players I have ever had the opportunity to meet. I’m sure his mother gives him a good dose of his charm, and on behalf of all Flyers supporters, let us offer our condolences to Danny and his family.
