Don deal: The Utah Jazz has added two more elite players, valued at $700 million each.

After the Jazz traded their two All-Stars during a major purge a year ago, the team is still looking for new players and a sense of direction. Considering how painful this process is, this could lead to a second consecutive season without a postseason berth.

Enjoying the ride as the team, led by Will Hardy, a rookie coach, develops into a team with a promising future is the best part.

What just happened?

John Collins, an Atlanta Hawks forward, was added by the Jazz and could play right away. Recall that in the 2019–20 season, he scored 21.6 points on average per game.
Guard Keyonte George is the target of much anticipation for Utah, which selected the versatile forward Taylor Hendricks with its second pick in the first round.
It was a win-win situation for the team and player when Jordan Clarkson chose to accept a three-year contract extension rather than becoming a free agent.
How far is Jazz capable of going?

The abundance of potential draft selections that the Jazz acquired for Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert two years ago has Utah supporters thrilled. This season, though, is also one to be optimistic. The AT&T Play-In Tournament makes sense with a few young players, including second-year center Walker Kessler and rising sensation Lauri Markkanen.

Only one player needs to jump.

Collin Sexton. He first supported point guard Mike Conley after being acquired in the Mitchell deal. Sexton had an opportunity after Conley was traded to Minnesota at the deadline, but injuries basically derailed his season following the All-Star break. He must show that he’s more than simply a shoot-first point guard because George, the rookie, will be challenging him.

Future Free Agents.

In 2024, the following ten Jazz players will be unrestricted free agents:

Alynyk Kelly
Tucker, Talen Horton
Fontecchio, Simone
Kristen Dunn
Leonardo Langford
Luka Samanić
Kinsey, Taevion
Jonathan Juzang
Matthew Potter
Hauser Joey
Horton—Following his trade from the Lakers, Tucker has really performed well for the Jazz and may receive a longer contract. Olynyk is in the same boat. Cap flexibility is valued in Utah, however. Furthermore, in a different season, this team might pull off a deal for a large salary.
