Devils remember After the leaves of absence for Cal Foote, Michael McLeod, and Justin Dowling, Daniil Misyul

On Thursday, the Devils made the announcement that they had called up Utica’s defenseman Daniil Misyul and winger Justin Dowling.

Prior to the Devils’ game against the Hurricanes on Thursday, Misyul and Dowling have both joined the team in North Carolina.

With Utica this season, Dowling, 33, has eight goals and eleven assists. He has played in 98 NHL games. During the 2021–2022 NHL season, Dowling was a member of the Vancouver Canucks. He has 12 assists and six career goals.

Misyul, 23, is currently playing in his first season in North America and this is his first call-up to the NHL. Misyul has three goals and eight helpers in 30 games with Utica.

The team gave Cal Foote and Michael McLeod leaves of absence one day prior to Thursday’s recalls. Five members of the Canadian World Juniors team from 2018—including both players—are accused of sexual assault.
