The best player for the Philadelphia Flyers is suspended for the following infractions:
The NHL suspended defenseman Tony DeAngelo of the Philadelphia Flyers for two games on Wednesday for spearing Corey Perry of Tampa Bay during a scrum in front of the net.
DeAngelo shoved a stick into Perry’s lower body on Tuesday, earning him a major penalty and a game misconduct. A more intense scrum was sparked by the action.
Following the game, DeAngelo stated that he was attempting to give Perry “a little shot.”
“I didn’t intend for it to end up there,” he stated. The second before, he attempted to cut my stick out of my hands. He talks about the entire game.
In addition to missing games on Thursday against Carolina and Saturday against Pittsburgh, DeAngelo will miss roughly $54,000 in pay.
This season, DeAngelo has 34 points and 10 goals.
