The Commanders just received devastating news when Ron Rivera disclosed a heartbreaking…

As another losing season comes to an end, the Washington Commanders are benching more players. LT This morning, the first name to be reported was Charles Leno Jr. He didn’t play against the Jets last week due to a calf injury he sustained against the Rams two weeks prior. In addition to missing the season finale against the Dallas Cowboys, he was already ruled out of tomorrow’s game against the 49ers. The same thing is happening to C Tyler Larsen, but two weeks ago he sustained a knee injury. Cornelius Lucas and Nick Gates, in that order, have taken their places in the starting lineup.

Percy Butler will reportedly finish his season on injured reserve after being ruled out of tomorrow’s game as well. He was listed as having a wrist injury on this week’s injury report. Although the injury is not serious, Ben Standig of the Athletic said that he will miss the final two games due to it.

According to sources, safety Percy Butler (wrist) and Tyler Larsen (knee) are likely headed to IR along with LT Charles Leno.

Despite not being a serious injury, Butler will probably miss the final two games due to it. Larsen did not play in the Jets game last week.

Should these rumors prove to be accurate, Washington will have three unoccupied roster spots that could be occupied by members of the practice squad or recent tryouts. More spots are available because Washington has a number of other players dealing with injuries who might miss the entire season. CBs Kendall Fuller (knee) and Benjamin St-Juste (concussion) were also ruled out and may be the next players to be placed on injured reserve. This week, rookie running back Chris Rodriguez was also placed on injured reserve.

Although Jacoby Brissett was selected to start tomorrow’s game, he is listed as questionable because he reported feeling tightness in his hamstring following meetings on Thursday. He is a game-time decision, according to the most recent report. In the event that Brissett is unable to play, Sam Howell would start again. Jake Fromm is a member of the practice squad and, depending on the outcome of the last two games, may be promoted or added to the 53-man roster.
