On a soggy Friday, the Steelers completed their indoor practice in anticipation of their matchup with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Additionally, there is positive news.

Security Minkah Fitzpatrick did not appear on the status report, but she participated fully on Friday.

Fitzpatrick was asked if he would play on Sunday after practice on Friday. Fitzpatrick has missed the previous four games due to a hamstring injury.

“Yup,” Fitzpatrick answered.

When asked how he was feeling, the follow-up question also had a straightforward, direct response.

With a “great,” Fitzpatrick replied.

Fitzpatrick wasn’t looking forward to dealing with the hamstring injury, but he knew he had to give it time to heal.

“It’s one of those things you have to take your time with, be patient,” Fitzpatrick said.

This season, the Steelers have experienced their fair share of injuries, particularly in the defensive line, where they have lost two starters for the entire campaign in Kwon Alexander and Cole Holcomb.

They are able to complete it somehow.

“I think the mindset that Mike (Tomlin) puts in from team development in terms of guys not knowing when their chance is going to come but being ready when it comes, and I think that shows up,” Teryl Austin, the defensive coordinator, said. “I believe that when guys do have the chance, they don’t sit on the sidelines and declare that they’ll never play. They are aware that they have a chance at a fantastic role if they seize the opportunity and perform well.

“I think guys take that to heart in this building, and I think that’s why we’ve been able to stay afloat.”

Austin is aware that this week will mark the first time since the season’s opening week that Fitzpatrick, T.J. Watt, and Cameron Heyward have all been active for the defense.

“I think it helps our defense when we have three quality players like that,” Austin stated. “I think we need to get those guys playing better. If we can get them all together, play well, and keep moving forward, I think it will be good for us.

“Those three guys are among the best at their position in the league, and we have some amazing players. We can only hope that we perform better when all three of them are on the field at once.”

Below is the complete injury report.
