Sadly, Kentucky softball head coach Rachel Lawson has been dismissed.

Photo by Sydney Yonker, Staff On Monday, April 1, it was revealed that Rachel Lawson, head coach of Kentucky softball, would be joining the coaching staff of the USA Softball Women’s National Team.
She will provide the coaching staff with “a wealth of knowledge,” according to a news release from USA Softball.
As the most successful coach in school history, Lawson is in her 17th season as Kentucky’s head coach. She has guided the team to 14 NCAA Tournament trips and a 2014 berth in the Women’s College World Series.

In July 2007, Rachel Lawson took over as head coach of the University of Kentucky softball team, and she saw a squad that was ready for big things. She was confident that the UK’s administration, including athletics director Mitch Barnhart, would support her no matter what. But most of all, she was confident that the Big Blue Nation would provide her squad with the home-field edge required to succeed in the Southeastern Conference.
