A major career-ending injury to one of the team’s most dedicated players has dealt the Indianapolis Colts a serious blow.

In advance of their matchup with the Houston Texans on Saturday, the Indianapolis Colts announced their Week 18 injury report today.

Center Ryan Kelly’s ankle injury kept him out of practice today. Kelly’s chances of being available this Sunday seem dim given that he missed two practices this week and that the media saw him wearing a protective boot. Wesley French will start in Kelly’s place on Sunday if he is unable to play.

Due to an ankle injury, cornerback Chris Lammons was forced to miss practice today once more. Last week, Lammons effectively relieved Moore as the starting nickel cornerback backup. The Colts are thin at the nickel corner position if he is unable to play.

Due to an ankle injury, guard Quenton Nelson missed practice yesterday and was limited during today’s session. Nelson appears to be headed in the right direction, so it’s good to hear that he is limited today. Josh Sills is expected to play left guard in Nelson’s place if he is unable to play on Sunday.

rear corner Following their limited practice yesterday, right tackle Braden Smith (knee), running back Zack Moss (forearm), and center Kenny Moore (back) were all fully participating today. Given Moore’s progress, Smith and Moore should be cleared to play on Sunday. Moss may not be ready just yet because he has been out for a few weeks, but it would be fantastic news for the Colts if all three could return this week.
