Don Deal: The Dallas Cowboys welcome a player worth over $900 million.
The Dallas Cowboys usually use free agency to fill holes rather than make major acquisitions because they have built their team around the draft and development model. Dallas wants to keep its own players, even though they have a lot of needs to fill, including wide receivers, linebackers, defensive and offensive lines, tight ends, kickers, and backup quarterbacks.
The Cowboys intend to extend the contracts of players who are eligible for second contracts, such as wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, tight end Trevon Diggs, and center Tyler Biadasz. They used the franchise tag on running back Tony Pollard. The biggest story of the week was the expected release of RB Ezekiel Elliot.
