Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs want to improve upon their success from the previous campaign. a campaign that culminated in them winning consecutive championships—a first since the early 2000s. FOX4 News’s PJ Green The notorious receiver Kadarius Toney was taken off the practice field by Kansas City after he made a clumsy jump attempt at a reception. Toney’s body was said to have “kind of flew in the air.”

Toney’s practice ended early, and as the crew hurried to the field to tend to him, he was hauled off.

The Chiefs lost another important player immediately after Toney was carted off the field; another top defender was taken to the injury tent. This marked the start of a difficult day for the Chiefs.

On Wednesday, star defender Nick Bolton was also brought to the medical tent. The standout linebacker was clutching his left elbow after he had tackled another Chiefs receiver during a play, according to PJ Green’s account.

After their injuries, Bolton and Toney were both evacuated from practice on a medical cart. Subsequently, head coach Andy Reid revealed that Bolton had injured his elbow, but Toney had sustained an ankle injury. But as was already mentioned, the team’s Wednesday injuries weren’t limited to these.

Not to mention those important players, offensive tackles Chuk Godrick and McKade Mettauer both sustained ankle injuries, and tight end Izaiah Gathings departed practice due to a hamstring problem.

Following his arrival in 2022, Toney’s stint with the Chiefs has been quite erratic. In his debut season, Toney was a major contributor to the team’s success and helped them defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. Toney’s season last year, though, was characterized by significant errors and drops. He has several times made the team pay dearly.

Toney did not play in any of the Chiefs’ postseason games—all of which they won, naturally. Given that the 25-year-old is still recovering from his injury, it is unlikely that he will get much playing time.
