SEALED: washington commanders has just completed another big signing.

The Washington Commanders announced that LB Brandon Bouyer-Randle, WR Davion Davis, and CB D’Angelo Mandell had all signed futures contracts.

TE Curtis Hodges was also released by Washington on Monday.

Futures contracts guarantee these players a spot on the 90-man roster and an opportunity to compete for a spot on the team; they are essentially invitations to training camp.

After graduating from Sam Houston State in 2019, 27-year-old Davis signed a free agent contract with the Vikings. He was one of the final preseason cuts made by Minnesota, but after going unclaimed on waivers, he joined their practice squad.

Later, Davis was added back to the active roster by the Vikings. In January 2020, he inked a futures contract with Minnesota, but in August of the same year, he was fired.

Davis then made a name for himself with the Browns before moving on to the Texans. He was, nevertheless, put on IR during camp and subsequently had a settlement taken out. He joined the Commanders’ practice squad last week after being released from Houston’s squad last month.

Davis played in two Texans games in 2021, catching one of three targets for 17 yards.
