A pundit believes Sheffield United will defeat West Brom and Stoke to sign a contract with Leicester City. “Would be a good move.”

If Cannon is permitted to go on loan from the King Power Stadium this summer, Sheffield United, West Brom, and Stoke are all eager to sign him, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

After spending £7.5 million to join Leicester from Everton in September, Cannon struggled to get playing time the previous season. His future at the team is uncertain as he only made one substitute appearance in the final two months of the season and was frequently left out of the matchday squad entirely.

Leicester City 2023–24 Stats of Tom Cannon (All Comps, Per Transfermarkt) Under new Foxes manager Steve Cooper, it is unclear if Cannon will get a chance in the Premier League, and several Championship teams are awaiting the Welshman’s judgment.

During his 2022–23 loan stint at Preston North End, Cannon scored eight goals in 21 games. Earlier in the summer, there were rumors that the Lilywhites were hoping to bring the 21-year-old back to Deepdale, while Blackburn Rovers were also connected to the player.

Carlton Palmer advice Tom Cannon is moving to Sheffield United.
Carlton Palmer
Palmer, in an exclusive interview with Football League World, stated that he thought Sheffield United would be the ideal place for Cannon to go if he did not return to Preston this summer.

“Leicester’s young striker, Tom Cannon, is in demand coming up to the start of the season,” Palmer stated.

“His skills are highly sought after by Preston, West Brom, Stoke, and Sheffield United.

“Over the preseason, Steve Cooper brought him into the building to assess him, but it appears the 20-year-old will be permitted to go out on loan.

“Where do I think he is heading? Although he performed admirably at Preston, I believe he is clearly very interested in playing for Sheffield United, who will be a formidable opponent at the top of the Championship next year.

“Any of these teams would be a smart choice for Cannon, since you would also anticipate West Brom to be there and Stoke to be dark horses.

“However, you always consider where you’re going to play your best football, and he performed admirably for Preston and Ryan Lowe, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he returned there.

“Other than that, if he doesn’t go back there, I would say Sheffield United under Chris Wilder would be a good move for him.”

Commentator: “A surprise move” as Newcastle shifts focus to Sheffield United
Regarding Newcastle United’s alleged interest in Sheffield United’s Will Osula, Carlton Palmer has rendered a decision.

Game time will be Tom Cannon’s first priority after a disappointing 2023–24 season.
Tom Cannon gives Leicester City a point.
Cannon, who had a difficult season at Leicester, will be itching to get back into the starting lineup the next year.

Palmer is correct that Cannon would probably be better off at Sheffield United, but there are concerns about whether he would play enough at Bramall Lane given the competition from players like Kieffer Moore, Rhian Brewster, and Will Osula—the latter of whom has been linked to a move to Newcastle United.

Stoke and PNE may be able to promise Cannon the most minutes out of all the clubs rumored to be interested, but West Brom, who have Josh Maja and Brandon Thomas-Asante on their books, may present similar challenges.

It might also come down to whether team is ready to pay the largest share of Cannon’s salaries, which might give Sheffield United and Stoke the advantage given their financial resources given Cannon’s long list of admirers.
