Play-by-play man Al Michaels related a story that head coach Mike McDaniel told him in a pre-production meeting about his time as running backs coach for the Sacramento Mountain Lions in the United Football League during the Dolphins’ victory over the New York Jets on Black Friday on Amazon Prime.

Michaels claims that McDaniel relates a tale about how he met his wife in a nightclub. Following a victory, one of the team’s running backs was dancing with McDaniel’s now-wife, Katie.

Michaels reported that McDaniel stated: “Listen, you are not playing with this team next year, or you are not dancing with her anymore.” McDaniel then begins to dance with her. That marks the start of the narrative. They get married after four years together.

The narrative became viral on social media.with many making fun of it and others saying it was a misuse of authority.

When questioned about the story on Monday, McDaniel gave some background information.

The basic plot of the story is accurate, in my opinion.
