At a press conference at the time, Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. offered a slightly different account of the altercation, claiming that Luna had pushed Cifuentes from behind.

The most recent development in the tale is the civil lawsuit. Bryan Alexis Cifuentes was detained and charged on February 4. with a battery. He entered a not guilty plea to the charge in August, and his case is still pending.

Luna was discovered bleeding on the ground outside Lot L, which is located off Stadium Drive across from an artificial lake to the stadium’s south, about thirty minutes into the match.
