SEALED; Baltimore Ravens has just completed another big signing.

The day before the Ravens‘ final game of the regular season against the Steelers, running back Dalvin Cook was formally added to the team.

This week, the four-time Pro Bowl running back was released by the Jets, giving him the opportunity to sign with a postseason contender.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh described it as “just good for business for everybody.” Dalvin has been an amazing teammate from the moment he arrived. It’s obvious that none of us had anticipated the outcome. He has been an amazing mentor and teammate to the young guys. I am aware that he has been in pain—not in a physical sense—but he still wants to be there for the team. I have no doubt that he will excel in any opportunity that comes his way.”

After rookie Keaton Mitchell suffered a season-ending injury, the Ravens promoted Melvin Gordon III to the 53-man roster. However, Cook would provide additional depth and allow Baltimore to consider moving up Cook from the practice squad should the playoffs unfold.

Cook became one of the best running backs in the NFL by rushing for more than 1,100 yards in each of his previous four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

But after being cut by the Vikings in June, Cook moved to New York to cover Breece Hall. Cook has gained 214 yards from rushes and 78 yards from passes caught in 15 games. This season, he has not yet scored a touchdown.

Gus Edwards and Justice Hill lead Baltimore’s backfield, but Cook’s experience and skill set could benefit the offense at some point during the postseason.
