Over the past few seasons, the Green Bay Packers have seen a number of free agents come and go. Of course, the franchise may be affected for some time by their decision to bring in Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney this off-season.

A free agent who signed with the Packers during the off-season is about to embark on a new chapter in his life.

As stated in an ESPN article:

Reversing course Kenyan Drake, who spent eight seasons in the NFL, announced his retirement on social media on Friday.

Drake attended Alabama for four years before being taken by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. In his tenure in Tuscaloosa, he amassed 1,495 running yards and 23 touchdowns, making him a standout for the Crimson Tide.

Drake steadily established himself as a key member of Miami’s rushing attack and special teams, racking up 883 yards from scrimmage in 2017. On December 9, he made his most well-known play with the Dolphins. In 2018, he accomplished the “Miracle in Miami” by winning the game against the New England Patriots with a last-second lateral to the end zone.

After being traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2019, Drake finished the season with a career-high 955 running yards and 10 touchdowns. The Las Vegas Raiders signed him to a two-year contract as a result of his success, but they cut him go in August 2022.

Drake played for the Green Bay Packers most recently. After spending two years starting just five games in Baltimore, he made just one appearance with the Packers.

In an Instagram post, Drake declared his retirement:

Drake posted on Instagram, saying, “It’s been an incredible ride.” It’s difficult to comprehend that [eight] seasons have passed. I’ve cherished the journey: the victories, the little and large moments, the camaraderie, the excitement, everything… I’m eager to see where the next chapter leads me and enjoy a little retirement. I’m grateful to everyone who traveled with me; nothing would have changed.
