The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says that Chiefs defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs was arrested for the second time in a month on a charge of domestic violence/burglary in Alabama. He was freed on a $5,000 bond Sunday.

There was nothing else known about the arrest. The Chiefs knew about the case but didn’t want to say anything.

The 27-year-old Buggs signed a $1,292,500 deal with Kansas City for the next season. On May 30, he turned himself in because he was charged with two misdemeanor counts of second-degree animal abuse. Two of the dogs that Buggs was taking care of were found to be mistreated and hungry, and one of them had to be put down.

Buggs is an Alabama-born tackle who stops running plays. He played for three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and then spent the last two with the Detroit Lions. He has played in 56 games and started 23 of them. During his career, he has made 89 stops and had two sacks.

To make the middle of their line stronger, the Chiefs planned to use Buggs. However, that was before they signed All-Pro tackle Chris Jones to a long-term deal and grabbed free agents Derrick Nnadi and Tershawn Wharton.

The Chiefs celebrated their latest title with a ring ceremony on Thursday. They are now trying to become the first team to win a record third straight Super Bowl. Since beating the San Francisco 49ers in February, they have had a number of legal problems off the field.

Wide receiver Rashee Rice faces eight felony charges from a high-speed crash in Dallas, and offensive tackles Chukwuebuka Godrick and Wanya Morris were arrested last month in Johnson County, Kansas, on a misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
