The man who made a bet that could’ve won him $1.7million if the OKC Thunder wins the NBA title has cashed out at $81,000, revealing that he ‘couldn’t take it anymore.’
Based in Arizona, Wayne Shelton went viral over the last couple of weeks after it was revealed that he’s just a Thunder NBA Finals title away from becoming a millionaire as he placed a three-leg parlay on OKC, the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Chiefs to win their respective championships at +1143000 odds (with a 50 percent boost) on Draft Kings.
Needless to say, the Rangers and Chiefs did their part, leaving Shelton one leg away from getting his grand prize in his bank account.
But with the Thunder tied 2-2 in their Western Conference quarterfinals series against the Dallas Mavericks, his cashout option yo-yoed like crazy.
As a matter of fact, Shelton could have walked away with $100k when the Thunder led the series 1-0 last week, but his cashout choice went as low as $30k when Luka Doncic and Co. won two games on the bounce afterward.
