Phoenix Suns make decision on Nos. 31 and 32 jerseys, with icons Shawn Marion and Amar’e Stoudemire to be enshrined into the team’s Ring of Honor.

The Phoenix Suns will never wear the numbers 31 or 32 again after the organization announced that Shawn Marion and Amar’e Stoudemire’s numbers would be retired. The Suns have announced that the shirts of two of its greatest players will be raised to the rafters, while Marion and Stoudemire will be inducted into their Ring of Honor.

The Suns announced the decision on Wednesday, with new owner Mat Ishbia applauding their achievements and commitment to the Phoenix franchise.

Shawn and Amar’e are two of the best players to have ever worn a Phoenix Suns uniform, according to Ishbia. ‘Shawn revolutionized the game with his exceptional versatility, while Amar’e was one of the league’s most electric players ever. ‘Shawn and Amar’e helped define the Suns and inspired generations of fans, and the Suns family would be incomplete without them in the Ring of Honor.

As we embark on a new era of Suns basketball, it is critical that we stay linked to our rich legacy. “We are thrilled to celebrate Shawn and Amar’e and properly recognize their incredible contributions and achievements.” Marion and Stoudemire will each have their own night to celebrate their achievements, as well as to make their induction and number retirements official.
