Imafidon chose the Cardinals after receiving scholarship offers from Kentucky, Iowa, Iowa State, and DePaul, among others. “We are excited to announce the addition of Eseosa Imafidon to our roster,” Walz said. “Eseosa, a native Nigerian, spent the last year at Proctor Academy in New Hampshire honing her abilities and expanding her online presence. Eseosa adds a strong work ethic and defensive aptitude with her ability to block shots.

Imafidon previously played for Team Curry in Charlotte, North Carolina, and most recently at Andover Proctor Academy in New Hampshire. She attended Matthews Covenant Day School in North Carolina before joining Proctor Academy for the season.
In her only year at Proctor, she competed in one of New England’s premier prep basketball leagues. She led the Hornets to an overall record of 14-7 in the NEPSAC Class AA division. In her final year at Matthews Covenant Day, she averaged 14.1 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per contest. After the season with the Lions, she earned second-team NCSAA Girls’ Varsity Basketball.
She will be the Cardinals’ seventh addition since the end of last season. The Cardinals’ lineup will include newcomers Eylia Love (transfer from Georgia Tech, came on campus in January), Jayda Curry (transfer from Cal), Hennie Van Schaik (transfer from CSU-Bakersfield), Kiki Jefferson (transfer from James Madison), Nina Rickards (grad transfer
In addition to Imafidon, there is Sydney Taylor (a graduate transfer from UMass) and from Florida. They will join a team that has advanced to the Elite Eight for the sixth time in a row, making them the only program in the country to have done so.
