Many people were upset with Iowa’s defeat against Nebraska, including Lisa Bluder, the head coach.

The Cornhuskers ended up heading to media availability first after the game. Since the away team must travel after the game, they typically provide this availability.

One Nebraska reporter claimed that the Hawkeyes arrived for postgame availability just after Nebraska’s court celebration was concluded. The sports information department (SID) of Nebraska informed the group that the information “may be disjointed,” but they also promised to give the Hawkeyes the room when they arrived.

Given that we’re doing this, Iowa arrived at the postgame after Nebraska had finished their court celebration. The room was informed by Nebraska’s SID that “this could be disjointed” and that Iowa would be given the room upon their arrival.

And then Lisa Bluder went insane. [t.co/5DloefhEHJ]

Bluder was heard complaining to the sports information and media operations departments while Nebraska center Alexis Markowski talked with reporters during the time that Nebraska was available.

Bluder grumbled, “We got a flight to catch.” It’s bullshit, this. This protocol is not Big Ten.

The in-arena production was another issue Bluder voiced, asking, “They play music while you shoot free throws?”

In the end, the Hawkeyes made 9 out of 15 free throws. However, Iowa standout Caitlin Clark said that she “didn’t even notice” that music was playing when the team was making free throws during postgame remarks.

“It doesn’t really matter if it’s music or fans yelling at you,” she declared. “The ability to make the free throw is a must.”

Iowa led the game for the most part but lost 82-79 after being outscored 27-10 in the fourth quarter. With 31 points in the final, Clark is currently 8 points shy of breaking Kelsey Plum’s record.

On Thursday, Iowa will host Michigan.
