Following the shocking announcement that Mark McGowan was resigning as Western Australia’s premier, Walyalup (Fremantle) has paid respect to him.

As a devoted supporter of the Dockers and a member of parliament for Rockingham, McGowan has openly displayed his support for the team throughout the years, frequently donning purple gear at events and press conferences.

Soon after he made his exit official, the Dockers wished him well on Twitter.

Two images of McGowan wearing a purple Dockers scarf were attached to the post; one featured him with former captain Nat Fyfe and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

When asked what his next move was, McGowan quipped that he may think about assuming the top position with the Tigers, which triple-championship coach Damien Hardwick had left open just last week.

“I could take over as Richmond’s coach.” Opportunities are scarce, according to McGowan.

Longtime Sunrise anchor David Koch, who declared he was leaving the well-liked morning program this morning, may potentially be replaced, according to McGowan.

“How would I fare in Kochie’s place? How do you feel? Could I really accomplish that? He grinned.
