Breaking News; Right now, The Michigan state Spartans basketball head coach has officially announced Two players transfer to Ohio state basketball.
Following his initial appointment for an early Zoom conversation with J’Vonne Hadley, Louisville and USC are now the only two programs left on his shortlist.
This is a little surprising given, as recently as last week, Hadley was seen as a strong Iowa State lean; however, it appears that there was a misunderstanding between the Cyclones and Hadley. Though that doesn’t appear to be the case, Michigan State supporters were hoping it meant he was reevaluating the Spartans as his primary choice.
Hadley is now down to two programs, each of which has a coach who has been actively involved in the portal and has been hired by their respective institutions in the last several weeks. After years of mediocrity, Pat Kelsey and Louisville are aiming to make a significant comeback in 2024ā25, while Eric Musselman and USC are hoping to revive USC basketball. Hadley seems to want to be involved in the process of developing the roster from the bottom up by both coaches. Is playing time or NIL the basis for this new interest? To be honest, probably both.
Hadley was a member of the Michigan State board; the name can now be removed.
Wisconsin seems to be the team to beat, but the Spartans are still searching for a big, capable shooter. Tom Izzo hosted Frankie Fidler from Omaha this past weekend. Fidler and Chucky Hepburn are good friends, which could make a difference in this recruitment.
Unless Fidler surprises everyone by selecting Michigan State on Monday, Michigan State basketball will have to start over from scratch.
