Breaking News; Right now, The Michigan state Spartans football head coach has officially announced Two players transfer to Kansas city Chiefs.

Simeon Barrow is leaving with company in East Lansing.

Two Michigan State football players, including Barrow, formally registered on the transfer portal on Tuesday morning. Keyshawn Blackstock, an offensive lineman, joined the junior defensive tackle, bringing the total number of former Spartans to five since Mel Tucker was let go on September 27.

After arriving in January, the 6-foot-5, 315-pound Blackstock—a 2022 junior college all-American—played 74 snaps as a backup left tackle in MSU’s first four games. Against Iowa, Rutgers, and Michigan, he was inactive. The junior was reported injured in the game notes for the 49-0 loss against Michigan by the Spartans.

Harlon Barnett, the interim coach at MSU, stated on Monday that he expected Barrow to use the portal. In Saturday’s 49-0 loss to No. 2 Michigan, the 6-foot-3, 290-pound redshirt junior recorded two tackles. In seven games this season, including six starts, he has recorded 19 stops and 1.5 sacks. During the start of 25 of his 29 games as a Spartan since 2021, Barrow has racked up 93 tackles and 8.5 sacks.

Along with long snapper Hank Pepper, defensive back Justin White, and running back Jordan Simmons, Barrow and Blackstock are departing the team. Simmons and Pepper have both accessed the portal.

Per NCAA regulations, each Spartan player was given the opportunity to access the transfer portal as soon as possible for a period of 30 days following Tucker’s dismissal. They might also choose, after a new coach is appointed, to go back to MSU.

Following Tucker’s dismissal, the Spartans (2-5, 0-4 Big Ten) have lost five straight games and will travel to Minnesota on Saturday. 3:30 p.m. on BTN is kickoff against the Gophers (4-3, 2-2).
