The Michigan State have just announced another unexpected great signing…

In college football, National Signing Day is always a significant event. With first-year head coach Jonathan Smith and staff assembling their first recruiting class with the Spartans, this year is especially significant in East Lansing.

As soon as MSU makes an announcement about a new signing, this page will be updated continuously throughout the day. Smith is expected to talk to media at 2:00 p.m. The 247Sports National Signing Day Show is a must-watch; it broadcasts live from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You should think about becoming a VIP member to gain complete access to everything we do on the 247Sports Network and to receive the most comprehensive and current recruiting coverage available now, tomorrow, and every day of the year. On Wednesdays only, new users can get a one-year VIP membership at a 60% discount off the standard fee, and all VIP material is accessible and free to read. The Spartan Tailgate team will be posting updates, comments, and analysis on the Shaw Lane VIP Board throughout the day, so that’s where you should head first.

After a rush of activity toward the end of the recruiting cycle, MSU has 17 committed high school prospects as of Wednesday, with the possibility of adding more on signing day. Without taking into account the committed transfer players for the Spartans, the group came in at number 52 overall.

Updates for National Signing Day

7:04 a.m. – Andrew Brinson IV, a defensive back from Tampa, Florida, is the first official signing of the Smith era. Brinson, one of several former Oregon State commits set to officially become Spartans today, was the first high school prospect to get an offer from Smith’s staff after they landed in East Lansing.

7:10 a.m.: Four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh, the jewel in MSU’s 2024 class, has joined the team. The River Rouge native’s large receiver made his initial commitment to the Spartans in the summer of 2022, but he later withdrew it in March. He then returned to MSU in the summer of 2023, remaining with the team after Mel Tucker was fired and Smith was hired.

7:20 a.m.: Austin Clay, a wide receiver from the Cleveland region for MSU, officially became a Spartan. This week, MSU forced Clay to back out of a commitment to Bowling Green.

7:48 a.m. Mercer Luniewski, an offensive lineman from Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, is another Ohioan who joins the team. One of the few remaining promises who initially pledged to Mel Tucker’s staff is the 6-foot-7, 300-pound player.

7:55 a.m.: Charlton, Mercer’s twin brother, signs on the dotted line, and both Luniewski family members are on the boat. Charlton Luniewski, who is listed as 6 feet 5 inches and 280 pounds, made a summer commitment to MSU concurrently with Mercer.
