For their courageous supporters, the astounding news has arrived that the two most brilliant Duke Blue Devils players have been suspended as a result of a misunderstanding.

No one could have argued with Kyle Filipowski’s choice to leave the Duke basketball program after just one season.

Even though the Blue Devils didn’t win a national championship this season, the 5-star recruit made an impact on the program. He would have been a first-round pick in June of last year, but he chose to return.

Shortly after teammate Jared McCain made his decision public as well, Filipowski announced on Friday afternoon that he will be entering the 2024 NBA Draft, bringing an end to his time at Duke.

“This has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to pursue it,” he posted to Twitter.

The 7-footer was a unanimous selection for the Second Team All-American team this season after winning the ACC Rookie of the Year award the previous season. He averaged 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game, but his parting message to Duke was genuine.

“Duke Nation, I’m grateful. My resolve to get to this point has been motivated by your constant support and faith in me. Your support has meant the world to me, whether you’ve followed my career online, cheered me on from the stands, or just sent me good wishes.”

“I also want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to my coaches, teammates, and everyone else who has helped my along the way,” Filipowski went on to say.

“Your guidance, mentorship, and sacrifice have played the ultimate role in shaping me both as a player and as a person, While I may no longer call Durham home, know that I will always carry this community with me.”

Due to his stature and significantly improved 3-point shooting, Filipowski is expected to be selected in the Top-15 of the June NBA Draft. As a result, organizations should consider him positively throughout the pre-draft process.

“To the Indoor Stadium at Cameron. To the crazy people in Cameron. To my mentors:. Regarding the Brotherhood:. I want to bring you all pride.”
