Colleagues are upset because a key player for the Indianapolis Colts has announced his retirement.

The Indianapolis Colts‘ starting safety, Khari Willis, has announced his retirement at age 26 in order to concentrate on a career centered around his faith.

Willis posted an announcement of his decision on Instagram on Wednesday. “I’d first like to thank the Indianapolis Colts organization for granting me the opportunity to compete in the National Football League the past three years,” he wrote.

My life has been profoundly impacted by the countless teammates, coaches, and support staff with whom I have formed enduring relationships. The knowledge I’ve gained during this stage of my life will be helpful to me in the future.

“After careful consideration and prayer, I have decided to formally retire from the NFL in order to dedicate the rest of my life to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.”
