Sad report. The head coach of Ajax Amterdam has recommended that there be no salary for Jordan Henderson this week due to…
Jordan Henderson signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Ajax after his contract with Al-Ettifaq was terminated, ending his terrible time in Saudi Arabia.
After leaving Liverpool for the Saudi Pro League last summer, the 33-year-old failed to adjust to the nation and quickly left the team.
The England international resorted to social media shortly after his contract was revealed to express gratitude to his supporters and former teammates as well as to give an explanation for his choice to quit the Saudi club.
“I regret to inform you that I will be departing from Al-Ettifaq effective immediately.” He posted on Twitter’s predecessor, X. Although it wasn’t an easy choice, I think it’s the right one for my family and me.
I’d like to use this chance to express my gratitude to the supporters and the club for their unwavering support during my tenure. From day one on, I truly felt the love. I’ll continue to watch, and I wish you luck. I wish you well going forward.
Ajax revealed the big catch with a video that celebrated his leadership qualities and ease in “red and white” play—a result of his early years with childhood club Sunderland.
On the club’s website, Ajax interim manager John van’t Schip stated: “We wanted an experienced midfielder with leadership qualities.” We needed someone to come in right away because of the team’s injuries, in part. And Jordan Henderson is one of those players.
